Madani Girls School Front Gate Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam. As salam u alaikum.

It is an established fact that young children learn from their surroundings. They learn from the environment that they are exposed to. They learn their native language and the names of people, objects and places just by hearing them being called out. Most significantly, they learn to imitate the people around them. This is something that is quite natural and cannot be controlled or altered. However, we can control the environments we place our children in and we can also choose who or what they should be exposed to.In their childhood, they are not aware of the benefits and harms of their surroundings. This is ultimately in the hands of the adults who are their guardians. The child will finally grow up, and wholly or partially, embody the environment his or her guardian exposed them to.

As Muslims living in the west, we need to give this serious thought. Having taken the decision to live here some of this exposure cannot be controlled, but we do have the choice to decide who and which system will educate our children. If we oppose the lifestyle of the west then it does not seem sensible that the teachers and the system, which represents that lifestyle, should educate our children.

Madani Girls School Front GateThe solution however is simple:we need to establish institutions which will deliver the national curriculum to a high standard and at the same time provide adequate Islamic education and Tarbiyah. Until Muslims in the west realise this need our children will continue to distance themselves from Islam until there is nothing left but their beautiful names and even that is changing too. Madani Girls' School was established to give our daughters the necessary education in this age, whilst preserving their religion in an Islamic environment.

The syllabus at Madani Girls School has been designed to deliver the National Curriculum to a high standard. At the same time it gives Muslim children the opportunity to learn basic Islamic studies. Our goal is solely to equip Muslims with the knowledge and Tarbiyah they need in these times of Fitnah (Trial and Tribulation). The knowledge these students will gain will bring them in touch with the intellectual heritage of the pious predecessors and, Inshaa Allah, encourage them to follow their footsteps in spreading truth and preserving our Deen. At the same time the students can study their GCSEs in a school environment attuned to their spiritual needs.

Therefore we ask everyone to support us in our effort physically, morally and spiritually.

May Allah accept our work.
Ameen.
